Truth is different than perception. Truth is the ultimate equation that binds every single imaginable and unimaginable thing in the world. And by world I mean the way that everything ever existed, and ever will exist. It extends beyond time, and beyond us. It is so big that we're not even sure if it exists. Ultimately knowing Truth requires an omnipresent, omnipotent, and all-knowing ability that Human Beings do not have. Which is why a lot of people would like to believe in God, but that would be a topic for another post...
Perception, is the individualistic, ever changing, Human view of the world. It is different than Truth, because Truth does not change. Truth just is. Perception changes. Perception is different not only from one person to the other, but also from one situation to the next, from one moment to the next. Human's shifting perception is why we struggle with identity and authenticity. It is why sometimes we're happy and sometimes we're sad.
One more important distinction to make is the definition of Facts: Facts are the premises in life, things we consider to be true until otherwise proven wrong. They are different from Perception and Truth because they achieve the delicate balance between the two concepts. They are considered fixed, but not permanent. They are also the same for a group of people, but necessarily for all people. Do you get the difference? Facts are the grey area.
Ok now that we got the definitions out of the way, why is Perception more important than Truth? Perception is more important than Truth because Truth is unimaginable. Even when I tried to describe it above, I failed. Because I might be wrong. Because Truth is beyond me. So why do we even bother with it really? Oh I'm oversimplifying again... I'll think about this later. But for now let's assume the following: Since truth is unimaginable, perception which is more tangible (though complex) is more important to examine.
To go even further with that argument, thinking about Truth is the way we PERCEIVE truth, that means that everything that we are is linked to PERCEPTION and not Truth. And since I am assuming that the ultimate goal of a human being is to know thy self, it is more important to pay attention to Perception, not Truth.
How is all of this linked to being interesting?
As I mentioned before, here's a fact (I'm sure other people out in the world agree with me, so I will assume this is a fact, this is an opinion though and I will distinguish between opinions and fact at some point when my brain isn't so hyper). Back to the topic. FACT: All Human Beings are interesting.
Being interesting is different than Perceiving yourself as interesting. And it is different than Perceiving that others perceive you as interesting.
So all human beings are interesting, BUT not all human beings perceive themselves and others as interesting. Seeing yourself as interesting requires self-awareness. And letting other people see you as interesting requires talking about why you are interesting. This last bit, is it really a good argument? I don't know but I'll examine it tomorrow.
