Why you are the most interesting person on the planet

You can hear and recognize your mother's voice in the womb. You are born, and every single fiber of your body was prepped for survival. You know how to recognize language ahead of time, and you learn so fast. Soon you are four years old. And you are able to juggle between two completely different concepts and realities: one minute you are a tiger "Rawr," the next minute you are you. You grow up and the schemas that you had in your head, the things that you thought you knew, all fall apart, and you rebuild. And you keep going throughout your life, building and rebuilding, thoughts and dreams, ideas and memories, and people and places. Things that you once thought you knew, that you knew you knew, turn out to be nothing but fleeting moments that you vaguely remember. But most importantly you are resilient. You can handle so much. In fact you have no idea how much you can handle. Even at life's worst moments, you chose to live.

Every human being is interesting because we are the greatest species on earth. And the complexity of each one of us makes us unique. Our experiences, our ideas, our relationship and personalities differ. And yes we have a lot in common, and there will be time where you question "what makes me special? what makes me, me??"

Easy. Have you ever read a really good book, or watched a really good movie, where the character had so much depth you inevitable thought...wow, he is the most interesting person on the planet. The truth is everybody is the main character of a book, but sometimes we don't see ourselves as the writer sees us. Imagine for a second, the writer describing in a book how the main character wakes up in the morning. And he writes about how the character drinks his coffee. The small habit is described in a way that goes beyond the consciousness of the character: the coffee gives the character a small reassurance, he loved the taste of it, the way the warmness felt in his mouth, the way there is a bitter after taste that lingered on his tongue etc... Do you see what the writer did? The writer gave meaning to the small habit of the character. So how do we ultimately perceive ourselves as interesting?

Being interesting requires paying attention, to yourself. Self-awareness gives us greater meaning. If we can talk about ourselves, if we can enjoy our small quirks, recognize our qualities and small habits, then we are interesting. The truth is giving life meaning may very well be worthless when it comes to truth. And by truth I mean the ultimate truth that everybody seems to be searching for. "Does our life have a meaning?" people ask. Well, it may not have a meaning. We may die, and that's that. That's the end of it. Nothing comes after, nothing came before, and we go on being unwritten in the pages of history. But why ask that question? It's stupid. All you and I need to do is PERCEIVE that our life is special, that ultimately WE ARE COOL.

Yeah, I'm cool. See. It's not so hard to be happy.
